Dave Archambault II served as the 45th Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. As a Tribal leader, his focus has been on education, economic development, renewable energy, and government reform. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, and a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. In recognition of his leadership and advocacy, he was awarded an honorary degree (honoris causa) from Vermont Law School.
Chairman Archambault emerged as a global leader for Indigenous rights when he led the opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline, bringing worldwide attention to the struggle for tribal sovereignty and environmental protection. He continues to be a strong advocate for tribal nations, working to protect inherent rights and foster self-determination. Through his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wozu, he is committed to regenerating both land and community, focusing on sustainable development, cultural preservation, and creating opportunities for future generations.
